QUESTIONS CLERGY PONDER

1. If a congregation beats up on a clergy, which part of grace do they not understand?
2. If a pastor, like Jesus, focused time on being with sinners, what would you call those who complained?
3. When Jesus asked, “Do you want to be healed,” was that like asking a congregation “Do you Want to grow?”
4. Do clergy learn to swallow a lot of crap for the privilege of chewing on some very satisfying meat?
5. How does a pastor turn the other cheek when the congregation has voted to reduce his/her salary?
6. Can learning to pace oneself be an act of stewardship of self by hardworking clergy?
7. Is the greatest temptation for clergy to focus on bread, riches, or power?
8. If all clergy advocated for plowshares and love of enemies, would they have the same experience as Jesus did?
9. If congregations and pastors do not forgive each other, will God love them anyway?
10. Another clergy’s experience of success is like grace, you can celebrate or be envious.  Neither will gain you the grace reward
11. Ministry is crazy; You have a message that can change the world, and most people want you to be non-controversial.
